Reformat XP pro registered and froze!!!

Hello, Tried to reformat Windows XP Pro. Screen froze up for about 4 hours. I get a reading that says windows not regiatered. I click ok. Then nopthing. All I have is a screen saver. No desk top no start menu, control alt delete does nothing. I hewar the windows log on theam we all love to hate but thats all I get. I did register the copy when I forst started and now it is asking for it but I cant get the poor puter to even acknowledge. Triued safe mode..Still need to register and it wont take it in safe mode so do I throw the computer out the window or get a bigger hammer

Hello Lyn,

Did you know that your cry for help almost got deleted because the politeness Charter would have appreciated a please which does not cost you a cent. We are all volunteers here and we help out of the goodness of our hearts.

Anyhow I have three questions for you before we can go further:

1. Is your copy of Windows genuine and do your a have the registration key

2. Why did you want to reformat? What were the problems you experienced?

3. If you insert you CD and boot it, what options are offered to you?
