When I set my Hard drive is. I went through a simple tech. trouble shoot, and head on, when my harddrive was not set up, I could see my dvd drive in my bios, when I had it hooked up I couldn't use it, nor see it. They're on one cable, is it possible the cable is damaged ?(I've tried using both ends, it hasnt changed results). The DVD spins, evne when it's not being recongnized, I just can't use it.

Any ideas ?

when you put the dvd/cd in, push the disk drive in fully . it could be a simple connection issue
It's not an issue with the DVD not being detected, it's the DVD-R not being detected.

As in, it doesen't pick up that I have a DVD-R hooked up when my HD is also hooked up.

Hello,

If your connecting your harddiskand DVD drive to the same data cable, then

check the jumper settings. Make your harddisk or DVD drive as master and the

other as slave.

Good Luck.
