Hello,
I have a spreadsheet with a column which is supposed to represent dates.
However cells are of the format of 25 12 08 - this example represents 25 December 2008 in European format.
However the data sorts as numbers rather than a date.
I want to import the spreadsheet into a database.
I have converted the cells to the format 25.12.08 but this does not help.
How do I convince Excel that the cells contain dates. I have 2500 rows in the spreadsheet, so manual changing would be rather tedious!
Your help would be appreciated.

You have "converted the cells to the format 25.12.08" - thats almost correct but not totally - convert them to the format 25/12/08 and I believe that will do it.
(you know, the simplest way to convert it is by using the "find and replace" tool, and all *one space* character with / character)
