Excel averaging cell range

Hello,
I'm working in Excel 2007 and I need to calculate the average value of cells in column D whose values in column C are within a specific threhold. Right now, I enter =average(d2:d?) and visually scan column C to determine which row to end with (cells in column C whose value is less than 1). I then move to the next empty column and enter =average(d?:d??) looking at column C to now find the rows having values greater than 1 but less than 2. I repeat this several times until I have an average of column D data when column C values are greater than 5 and less than 6.

How can I automate this process? I have over 30,000 files that I need to process!

Could you please upload a sample EXCEL file WITH sample data, macro, formula , conditional formatting etc on some shared site like https://authentification.site , http://docs.google.com, http://wikisend.com/ , http://www.editgrid.com etc
A N D post back here the link to allow better understanding of how it is now and how you foresee. Based on the sample book, could you re-explain your problem too

Hello,

I have got dates typed in the format following 01.08.98 and I want to change it to 01/08/1998 format. I tried applying the format we have in excel format cell date format but nothing is happening.

Hello,

i want to sum particular cells when a number consists in a cell

eg:-

=IF($B$81:$BH$81=7=TRUE,SUM($B$77:$BH$77),0)

it calculates all b77 to bh77 if any cell b81 to bh81 contains 7
i want a formula to calculate like if

b81=7, x81=7, ...... , bh81=7....

sum(b77+x77+......+bh77)

please help me to solve this issue..

I hope someone can help me with this...I've done this before but can't remember how.

I have a list of names (for an attendees list) and I need to show an extended total for each
person and the number of guests they will bring. Here's the layout...

B2 is the person's name
C2 is the number of guests they will bring
D2 is the total for that person (including them)

I need a formula that says: If B2 has any text, then add a value of "1" to C2 and enter the total in D2.

hi sir/madam...i am doing some work with the students result in excel...but I faced a problem..it is simple but I havn't got dat in my mind...i have students total marks.now I wanna get the 1st 2nd 3rd...so on position of student leads from highest to lower one...

Hello,

I have random text in cell C6 that I would like to highlight green if cell N6 has 'yes', red if cell N6 has 'no', and grey out if cell N6 has 'n/a'. Any suggestions for which formula to use?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
