Hello,

A couple of days ago, I was able to play CBT nuggets having video and sound. Several days later, I can not see the video, but I can still hear the sound from the nuggets. At the same time, my windows media player can not play any video? I am using windows 7, therefore my media player being WMP 12.

Could someone please help me with a solution to this? Thanks

Regards,

Derek

Dear Ceo,

Please consider restoring your system to the date where it was working correctly and hence, if there was any corrupted or missing files, the problem will get solved.

Thanks in advance.

To correct this issue, you may need to update your copy of Windows Media Player. Complete your update by going to this link: http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/crlupdate/en/crlupdate.html

Also you may need to update your copy of Windows Media Player. This step should be performed only if you are using Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or above). If you are using Windows Vista, please skip ahead to step #2.

1. Please be sure you are using Windows Media Player version 11. You can obtain a free copy of Windows Media Player 11 here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/get-windows-media-player-81718e0d-cfce-25b1-aee3-94596b658287

2. Once you have Windows Media Player 11, please install the update available here: http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/crlupdate/en/crlupdate.html
If you are still unable to successfully view your training please follow the notes below:

The order of operations below is very important.
1) You will need to clear the DRM folder manually. *Note that the Windows Media DRM folder is both a hidden and system folder.

2) To view system and hidden folders, follow these steps: a. Click Start, and then click My Computer. b. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab. c. Click Show hidden files and folders, d. also then click to clear the "Hide protected operating system files" check box.

3) The DRM folder is located: - Windows 7: C:\Program Data\Microsoft\Windows\DRM - Windows Vista: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\DRM - Microsoft Windows XP and 2000: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\DRM - Windows 98: C:\Windows\All Users\DRM - Windows Millennium Edition: C:\Windows\DRM

4) After finding the Folder, please rename it to DRM_Backup or delete the folder. Once the folder is renamed or removed, please try to play one of your nuggets. WMP will want to do a Security Update.

Allow the update to complete.
5.) Once the security component is installed if there is still viewing trouble, please manually update the CRL component here: http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/crlupdate/en/crlupdate.html

6.) The video should now be playing. If it is not, please e-mail back with a screenshot of any errors, and a brief description of what is happening. if you are getting a blank ready screen, please r-click in the video area and select "error details" then send us the text it shows.

Let me know if this installs successfully, and if it makes any differences when attempting to view the training.

6.) The video should now be playing. If it is not, I suggest sending an email to cbt nuggets support.
