Hi,
Seems that .sys file has been corrupted, unless you have fresh data of that, you can't do that.
Try this (am not very sure:)
From your friends system, try to copy that .sys file alone and replace that in your system. Make sure that the same OS version, service packs used by your friend.

Hi Eric,
Just do search of that file in the other system, else try to search it from other Xp software CD. I don't think we should go much kernel in this.
