Laptop to spy on desktop

Hello,
I have a dell desktop computer, and a dell laptop computer. Both are running winXP home with sp2, what I was wanting to do is configer them some how so that I can see, from my laptop, what my kids are doing, and or have done on the desktop. Does this make sense? Any way, I am not very technical, so need step by step instruction in laymens terms. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou
