Can my laptop work alone with the router

Hello,

i´m trying to configure my lynksis router through my laptop, could i have my laptop get to work with wireless internet after?or do i have to have the port plug always connected to the computer?

Hello there. My poor hp laptop problem, that i didn't update the anivirus software,so it fall as victim of the viruses like trojan, worms & other viruses attacks,honesstly am not interested in this field till i became one of it's victims. I've tried to download free antivirus software but it doesn't complete,is it the virus doesn't allow it to complete running, how would i solve this problem as soo as possible before it's too too late, cause it's already late.
