New ipod. Will i lose songs

Hello,

Hi!!I have a new ipod but have loads of songs on my itunes as have old one for ages! when i plug in my new one will i lose everything as it syncs? will it put songs on ipod or empty ipod delete current music library?!

Am i worrying over nothing?!!! I don;t want to lose what i already have! xx
