Desktop doesn't show laptop in workgroup

Laptop Dell Inspiron 8200 with XP Pro and Dell Desktop 4600 with XP Home. Laptop shows both computers in workgroup, but desktop does not. I can ping each computer successfully. Don't know what to try next?

Please press CTRL+ALT+Del and check whether the Windows Explorer is working.

try to check both computers belong on the same work group and try disabling any personal firewalls and internet security application

the two computer are they connected to same router?
the two computers are they getting same segment of ip address?
