Fire Wire for downloading images from Lexar

Hello,
Kindly fill me on the the specific Express card ( ?1384 B) I need to do high speed downloading of digital images via the Lexar card reader. I purchased the model ECB 2400 recently but that particular Sunix Express card does not seem to work with Windows 7. Kindly advise me on the right system. I do have a Compaq 610 notebook and do not have like the Aplle a built-in fire wire port.
