Keyboard stuck??

My desktop crashed and I tried to reformat (via XP system disk) but once I get to the screen that says do you want to repair, reformat or quit, my USB keyboard doesn't work. And of
course I don't have a ps/2 connection on my computer that would allow me to use that kind of keyboard instead
