To xpcman.... success on reset mac admin pass

Hello,
I am girl and not computer genius, but i followed what you posted on how to reboot, and hold comm + s at the same time and so on and so forth.... its no working under new admin and new password so far.

however, i lost my personal pics stored onthe computer..... did i lose those forever? or can i get them back?
