Disc drive won't open or respond

Hello,

I own a Presario C700 Notebook and ever since i bought it(two years ago) i have been having problems with the disc drive. It sometimes just stopped opening or responding at all, now it never responds or opens. I have used a pin to push the release button on the disc tray but even when i put a disc in, my computer will not recognize any discs.

I have went into Control Panel and checked my device management, according to my laptop my disc drive is working fine. Any idea what is wrong with my disc drive?
