My laptop screen is blank

Hello,
i short down my compaq presario f700 normally on 10/12/08 and the next day i tried to turn it on but the screen went blank. Although if i tune it on, it do come on but the screen will be blank or i should just say black and i wll not be able to see the mouse unless i go near the light to search for the mouse. pls i need someone to help me.

hello the first thing is to determine if the your screen is not out of order....normally you should try reseting it to factory settings(these functionalities are independent from the OS used.)
