Laptop keyboard letters coming out as numbers

Hello,

I have a Lenovo laptop with Windows 7. I am experiencing issues that all my keystrokes (except spacebar) in certain programs (Chrome address bar is fine, but other programs like pidgin or websites like freestockcharts.com that uses silverlight) come out as incremental numbers. e.g. M can be 8, then whatever key i hit becomes 9, and then 10. I have a numlock key and i tried it both on and off, the same result happens.

Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance!
