Eee PC cannot open Windows XP

Hello,

My EEe pc laptop ran out of battery whilst I was using it earlier. I have since charged it and when i go to start the computer now it tells me;

WE APOLOGIZE FOR THEW INCONVIENCE ,BUT WINDOWS DID NOT START SUCESSFULLY . A RECENT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGE MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THIS.

I have tried to start up by the computer by clicking 'start windows normally' but it keeps taking me back to the same screen.
