hey guys, just needed some clarification as i am somewhat new to reformatting drives....

i purchased this drive a while back thinking it was formatted in fat format, but clearly has come from WD formatted for use on mac, it is the silver model with 2 firewire 800 connections, an eSATA connection and the usb 2.0 connection...

my question is, if i reformat it to fat32 with 1 partition, will this allow me to plug it into my DLNA tv (throught usb 2.0) and have it work like my, my book essentials does?

also this reformatting will not impact on my use of the firewire abilities when im using it on my computer (macbook pro)..

thanks in advance.

Hi,

You mentioned ''partition'' well you need to have it in Fat for playing movies via usb port on other devices other than a pc and the size must not be larger than 20 Gb,

Thanks
