Ipod-- cant add songs

Hello,
I have a unique problem. I am unable to install itunes, error is "another installation already running". Tried restarting, but no use. I tried adding songs to ipod using Sharepod, but when i do that in sharepod it shows songs transferred, however in ipod it shows 0 songs :-( also the surprising thing is that the ipod shows that some memory is used for this however the songs are inaccessible. What should i do??? Pls help???

Hi,
please try to reset your iPod like explained in the Apple support
If it doesn't work restore it with iTunes on another computer. Note! All music, videos, notes etc. will be deleted from the iPod.
Afterwards you can try to use your iPod with Sharepod or any other iTunes alternative.
