I pod cant switch it of to play

Hello,
my i pod is just show the apple logo and then become black and then menu for few second and then again apple log cant play or switch it off on an on.
please help me

Try resetting it. Push the center and menu button at the same time. and hold them down until it reboots. That often fixs common problems.

I tried earlier but not working that it alternate the screen with the menu and the apple logo when i connect to the computer its only connect while the menu appear and when the apple log appear its disconnect it continues until the battery run down. it happened after i put some of the notes to the i pod.
