Dell laptop replace the backlight or inverter

is it possible to replace the backlight or inverter board in my laptop without too much trouble? thanks

Hello,

If you are getting the display in the external monitor then problem may be with

the inverter or the backlight bulb. If you look closer to the screen you may see

the fainted \ dim windows. If you are careful then you can replace the inverter or

the backlight bulb. Remove the inverter from your laptop, note down its number

and search for a new inverter using that number in ebay.

But I would suggest you let the service guy do it for you. He will be connecting

another screen to your laptop's inverter to confirm whether the problem was with

the inverter or the backlight bulb. Inverter failure symptoms are very similar to

backlight bulb failure symptoms. But most of the time, its the inverter boards

that fail more often than backlight bulb.
