Hello,

I have an Excel file with 1000 lines of Information. I would like to link this file to MS Access and have one windows wherein it will ask user to enter Product ID/ or Product Type/ or Supplier Name. If the information is found it should be displayed with the complete Row details from Excel file.

Can someone guide me how to build the table, query and report as I am a beginner in MS Access.

Thanks and regards,
Archiee

you need to provide more information

Could you please upload a sample files WITH sample data, macro, formula , conditional formatting etc on some shared site like https://authentification.site , http://docs.google.com, http://wikisend.com/ etc
AND post back here the link to allow better understanding of how it is now and how you foresee. Based on the sample book, could you re-explain your problem too.

Note:
your data need not be to be real data but a good representative of how data looks like

Hi,

Please find link to the file below:
http://wikisend.com/download/402076/For Mr. Riz.xlsx

You will see several columns I want all of it as table in Access database. I want user to search on any of the main criteria mentioned earlier and users will get to see only the relevant information instead of sharing the complete excel file. Hope you are able to understand my problem.

Regards,

Archiee

There are lot of questions on your book. If you want data to be in Access, then why do you even need excel ?

How much of data are you thinking about eventually. If 1000 row is all that you have then you can still live in excel world. the data could be housed in a hidden sheet and you could provide user and interface in excel to do search and get the row for them

It would be just great if I could do that in excel. Can you advice how i can do it. Please also remember that data is being added to the file on daily basis if u hide the sheet than how will data entry operators work. Look forward to your response.

There are various approaches to data entry. Depends on situation. One could be that you provided a form where user enters the data and then click on save and then data is saved on that hidden row. Other approach could be that you have a dummy sheet upfront where users will enter the data and once they click on save (or some action that you define indicate that user wants to save) then copy the data to hidden sheet and clean out the dummy sheet blank
