i turn on my computer and then it goes to a black screen. I am able to get the bios screen up. How can i get it to boot up in a safe mode? I have played with a few of the settings & am unsure what they should be all set at!please help!

Hello,

First try to key alt+ctrl+del to open your task manager, click on new task and type explorer.exe and click ok.

Hi Lori,

It seems that you have two conflicting pieces of hardware affecting memory.

Can you remove the latest?

Hi again Lori,

I will transfer you thread to a good friend of mine who is a cybernetic wizard, he will contribute to solving the issue, his user name is jack4rall. Be nice to him, he is 86 but rocking.

Hello,
First thanks to "Ambucias".
Try this 1
First remove the external devices that are connected to your computer. Switch on your computer -->Go to BIOS once again --> Load the default settings --> Set the first boot device as "Hard disk"
--> Save the settings and exit from the BIOS.
If the problem still exists then let me know if you have an OS DVD with you.
Good Luck

Hello,
Are you getting the black screen after the motherboard's brand name ?
Do you have OS DVD with you?
Good Luck
