Bootable pendrive

Hello,
this is raj , i m using a pen drive to formate my laptop. i made bootable with xp sp2 but when i try to formate the laptop it give me the black screen and then it start the os which is already installed . but i want to install a new os ............

please give me suggestion

You may have missed something to create the usb with xp for installation,get all instructions on link below:
