is hard to say without enough information. check which is the default action of your D partition. to check it, go to My Computer and right click the hard disk and verify which option is in BOLD style. also, try selecting Open among those options. if Open is not in bold, i guess that might be the problem.

try this procedure:
Type or paste in Start | Run and click OK...
regsvr32 /i shell32

obtained from http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/28608491/-how-to-change-the-def.aspx

here is a manual procedure obtained from https://www.answers.com/Q/When_you_double-click_your_C_drive_it_gives_you_an_option_to_choose_a_program_to_open_with._What_can_you_do_to_open_it_by_double-clicking

Start the registry editor: Start->Run "regedit"
Navigate to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
If there is a folder: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell\open
Delete it.
There should only be Drive\shell\find and maybe Drive\shell\cmd, but if you see Drive\shell\open, delete it.

Make sure that when in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell\, the (Default) key on the right hand window should have a value of "none":
Name: (Default), Type: REG_SZ, Value: none
