Acer D255 keyboard locks up after login

Hello, I have an Acer D255 laptop for my daughter. It will log in on her user name and password, then the keyboard locks up, mouse works fine. We can go to the on screen keyboard and it will work, but very cumbersome. When I log in under my administrator user name and password, everything works fine, including the keyboard. Please help, I very much appreciate it.
