Acer 23" LCD Widescreen Turns off after 3sec. Closed

Hi,

I recently went to a LAN where my friend DROPPED my Acer 23" Widescreen on its Back (about shoulder hight drop)

Now when i plug my screen in, it goes on for about 3 seconds and it switches off (Screen goes Black, The blue light ,right hand side, stays blue[indecating its on, if orange screen is off or whatever])

Is there anything I can do to fix this ? or should I let the insurence pay out ??
