Hello,

We have an acer 1640z laptop and a couple of times the screen has gone blank without warning. The backlight works fine (we replaced the lcd screen with a refurbished one a few months ago) but there is nothing on the screen. I read that if an external monitor plugged in doesn't show an image either, then it must be either the motherboard or the graphics card - How do you tell which it is? Should we just replace the whole thing?
