Unable to edit contents from my thumb drive

Hello,

Sir or Mam,

I currently run microsoft word 2003 on my PC. I can view items on my thumb drive and on my desktop but I am unable to edit them. I ran a converter to 2007 a while back and I was able to edit contents. For some reason I am unable to edit contents now. I would greatly appreciate some help with this matter. Thank you. Nick

What error do you receive?

Are you trying to edit the file which is on the thumb drive?

I can view the material but I can't edit or type anything on the thumb drive when I attempt to edit. I am trying to edit the content on the thumb drive. For some reason it will not allow me to type over content that is on microsoft word.

Try this

unplug the USB,go to start and type

cmd and press enter

Now copy and run this command


REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR" /v Start /t REG_DWORD /d 3 /f

After running this command ,plug in the USB

Try to edit it
