Hello,

I made the mistake of getting myself virus from a scam and now my computer won't boot up. It lights up and it does not make any sound. My fan is running at full speed. There is nothing wrong with my motherboard, monitor etc.
It was working just fine yesterday, before I got myself into the scam on Facebook. :-(

Insert your OS CD

Press a key on bootup and wait for windows setup menu

Click on R key to get into recovery console,a command prompt window should open
Type your administrative password and enter

then type this command and enter

fixmbr

Reboot and check

If your OS is vista or 7

in same way enter the windows setup menu ,click on '' repiar your computer '' option

click on command prompt

THen run this command

bootrec /fixmbr

If you have a recovery console preinstalled by your manufacturer..You need not search for OS CD.Try to click on F8 key at bootup and select repair your computer and follow the same procedure.

This may not be a virus issue.Possibly a hardware issue

Try to clean your RAM and reinsert.

Sorry, nope. I don't even know what it looks like. I just hope it doesn't cost too much to fix. What do you think it'll cost?

Do you have a laptop or a desktop?

I live in india and i'm not sure how much it will cost for you
I dont recommend wasting money in cleaning RAM,you can watch videos in youtube on removing and cleaning RAM
If you still face issues after cleaning and inserting your RAM ,you can take it to a repair shop
