Can you change the system format to FAT32 or NTFS?
If you plan to use it in a PS3, it must be FAT32. This is more supported, but cannot have a single file (not folder with files) over 4GB in size.
NTFS allows any size with no limits, but fewer devices can take it.
So pick one thats more suitable for you.
Once you have chosen, try formatting it then.

File System: *whatever you choose*
Allocation Unit Size: *whatever you choose, the more, the faster it will be, but the more storage space you will lose, 4096 is average*
