Hello,

I have been using conditional formatting to make a cell change colors if a)greater than or b)less than, today's date; however, I don't know how to tell excell to leave everything as it is when there is no information logged in the reference cell.

A C D
1 Today()
2
3 DATE EVENT
4 1mar11 red
5 1Jun12 Green
6 Blank (still changes color)???

I want D6 to stay without formatting when C6 has no date in it. Thanks,

Rob

select first cell (for e.g. A1)
in the conditional formatting first
the formula is
=and(A1>=today(),A1<>"")
then use color green
similar for the less then today

copy A1 down and pastespecial-format
