My Laptop Wont read my Sims 3 Disk

I just go a new Laptop for Christmas and i wanted to install my Sims 3 Game on it, i insert it and wait and nothing happens, I go onto 'my computer' and it doesn't say anything about sims 3 , The launcher, Installer doesn't appear either , I don't Know what to do and i really want to play! Help??
