Ares 2.1.7 will not connect on windows 7

Hello,

i have just installed ares for the fourth time trying to get it to get past the connecting phase, I have set the windows firewall to allow ares same on the kaspersky firewall. What else is there that I can do to make this work? or is there another program I should go with?
