Hello,

I have an HP desktop computer that is connected to my cable internet wirelessly via a router. The only problem is that the router is so far away from this particular computer (it is in the basement by another computer) that I never have a signal stronger than "poor."
So I ran an ethernet cable up through the floor from my Linksys router to my HP desktop. But it seems the HP will not read or register the ethernet connection, it only wants to connect to the wireless network.
Is there anyway I can fix this or do something to make it work? I've tried googling and I have yet to get a decent answer that is even remotely what I'm looking for.

I am getting desperate!

To say please, thank you, appreciate, grateful, etc... is common courtesy when you want something, especially help!
