Hello,

Earlier today I accidentally disabled my speakers on my Windows 7 laptop, thinking that it would stop my problem of audio playing through both headphones and the speakers at the same time. Now I am assuming that because of the issue I caused with the driver I get a BSOD every time I boot into Windows 7 I get to the "Welcome" screen and instantly get a BSOD. I figure I have to go and install the driver again but I don't know if it is possible given I cannot restart and continue an installation while in safe mode. I do have the latest version of the Windows 8 Dev Preview (what I am using now) also on my hard drive but that has not caused any problems in the past.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

boot the PC into safemode

Press Windows+R key and type

devmgmt.msc and click ok

Right click on your sound driver-Uninstall

Restart your PC,see if that works.

It did install the driver but there was no effect. When I run the audio troubleshooter I get the error that the audio services are not running but I cannot start them.
