W/D External Drive

Hello,I have a Western Digital External Drive,It seems that It auto saves everything from my computer onto It,My computer crashed,and I had to reinstall Windows XP, and lost everything.I plugged the external drive ito a USB and had nothing on It,went to explore and nothing.What am I doing wrong do I have to tell the H/D to save things.Many Thanks.Henry

hi,
it may be that the external had drive contains a virus.
try to format it and then try to plug it in your computer again.
if the problem continues, then it ay be that your hard disk has a problem.
contact your reseller.
