Linux cursor size

Hello,

I recently purchased an acer netbook running on the linux operating system for my mother for her christmas, she loves her netbook but has problems seeing the cursor due to her eyesight,I have been through the system trying to find out how to enlarge the pointer and also have tried to download them from the net without success, Can anyone give some info on how to rectifiy this problem.
