How do I protect my linksys router? how do i secure it from hackers? I do not have the security software that came with my router. Can I downloak the software?

There is no special software used for the router. You connect by wire to the router and use your browser to log into the router. You can set a router password and keyword for the WEP or WPA encryption that you should be using. Go to the Linksys site for specific info. Good Luck
