Internet won't connect modem on and router on

Hello,
My modem says it is connected when ck to see where it is currently connected but I cannot connet to google or anything. I keep getting timed out and keep getting the page that says diagnose connetion or something like that. I am currently connected to someone esles unsecured network in the neighborhood.
Sometimes the modem drops out and says no connection and when it my pc says i am connected nothing seems to happen. I have unplugged the modem and plugged back in with no results. Everyone else in the neighborhood has internet except me.

Hello,
It looks like your modem has to be reconfigured or reset!
Not knowing which brand and type, I strongly suggest that you contact your Internet Service Provider's customer service. Most of the time it's just a matter which can be solved over the phone in 15 minutes flat.
