in the task manager, file > new task (run) > explorer.exe

What is the make and model of your machine?
You gave the correct command to the task manager.
It looks like your Windows got badly corrupted in the update process and you may need to be reinstalled, with lost of data.
You may need to restore to factory settings as you do not have access to any working .exe files, not even your start menu.
There is probably a recovery partition on your HD.
