About windows installer ver 3.1 and windows xp 2002 sp 2

Hello,

My operating system Windows XP 2002 Service pack 2. I have installed some software which says it needs windows installer 3.1.

Now I am in a fix, whether the windows installer 3.1 is compatible with my operating system. Please advise in this matter. If I cannot install windows installer 3.1 then what can I do. Thanks in advance.

Hi Badar,

I checked the information on Microsoft's website about Windows Installer 3.1 Redistributable (v2). It says this can be used with Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Windows XP Service Pack 2. So you can happily install it in your machine.
