Hello,

I have an acer ferrari 3200 which won't boot up. The person who I brought it from removed the battery with the laptop powered up. I have tried removing the battery, holding down power on for 10-15 seconds and powering up but it still won't.

I have removed the RAM and get no beep codes. I have removed the HD and DVD drive and still no noise.

The machine powers up to a point as the DVD drive works, the LEDs come on and the fans start up. The power LED flashes amber green constantly but I cannot find what these codes mean on the web.

I suspect its a mainboard failure due to a short circuit but any suggestions to help narrow it down would be most welcome.

Same problem and solved a few minutes ago.
Botted up and nothing happened. switched off. Unplugged AC cord. Kept power on button pressed for 20 secs. Plugged AC cord in and switched on... screen was ok and booted perfect.
