Problem while installing WindowsXP on windows 7 defined laptop

Hello,
My laptop is installed with windows 7 now i want windows xp.After inserting xp cd to cd-rom the process will start all the files will be loading at a certain point i will get a error as"chect for viruses on ur computer......run chkdsk-f....and so on" I don no wht to do can any one plz suggest me anything and note that my laptop is not 'free DOS' what shall i do now....

Hi manugaara,

It should normally install Windows XP on a Windows 7 compatible computer. If a conflict happens during installation it should be a hardware compatibility issue. The error message you have reported (virus related message...) needs to be diagnosed. I can try helping you with this problem, please reply with the exact text of the error message that you get when you try to install the Windows XP Operating System.
