How to enable dual monitor using aspire 4730z

Hello,

hi tried hooking up the vga from my laptop to my tv monitor so i can multi task (watching movie at the same time working). but it seems that the tv monitor only mirrors my laptop screen.

Please advice.

Do you have an Intel Graphics and Media Icon in the control Panel?
That's where you change from "clone" mode you see now to independent mode. You will need to change Control Panel display from category to icon display so you can click on the Intel icon. This assumes you have a Intel based Motherboard on the laptop.
