Hello,

I have tried so many options to remove the write protection from my transcend pen drive, I have tried to run the registry editor but I do not find the storagedevicepolicy option in my computor, please help.


I have tried Run/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlsSet/Control/storagedevicepolicy
but here I did not get the 'StorageDevicePolicy' option in my computor, help me.

i tried all but can not find StorageDevicePolicy there

i have a HP pen drive which is write protected I tried formatting it from disk management and HDDLLF but it still same ..

Hello Aditya,
Try this 1
If its a HP Pen Drive then try formatting it using HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool.
Click on the below link and download it

Thanks so much for the help. I have tried the link you have given and followed the instructions, but it did not solve the problem.I will be glad if you can kindly find some others means too.

Hello,
Try this 1
1) Click on the below link and follow the instructions
https://ccm.net/faq/4214-how-to-disable-write-protection-on-a-usb-key
2) If the problem still exists then first check if there is any format utility available
in your pen drive manufacture's website. Try formatting with that utility.
3) If the problem still exists then click on the below hyperlink "HDDLLF" and download it.
HDDLLF
Connect your pen drive --> Open the downloaded application --> Click on "Continue for free" --> Select your pen drive from the list --> Click on "Continue".
After completion of the process try formatting your pen drive from the Windows.

thanks..HDDLLF is really worked in 8gb transcend PD.bt I also want solution for 4gb transcend pendrive...plz.. help me....

I have tried all the options you suggested, but nothing works. I have tried the manufacturers online recovery also but did not work. I might as well have to dump in the trash can... Please help in there is some way...

if you did not find storagedevicepolicies then create a new key

for transcend 2.0 flash drive (mine is an 8 gig) the only thing that worked was using the transcend repair tool to wipe and reformat the flash drive. here is link to the tool:
