Hello, My Toshiba satellite laptop seems to have stopped booting up. It gets as far as the cursor on a blank black screen. have run the repair programme several times to no effect.Would you be kind enough to make some suggestions.I do not want to loose any data. Thanks.

Hello

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable
2. Hold the power button for 58 seconds
3. Replug and boot

Good luck

OS= operating system

You would not believe the number of people on this forum who have had similar problems as yours with their Toshiba laptop.

Unfortunately, considering that you do not wish to loose data, I'm out of rescue resources.

Sorry

P.S. I suggest, to attrack attention to your need, is to begin a new thread and mention the solution which we have tried and that you cannot boot in safe mode. Also mention your operating system. (Windows...)
