Lost Photos-Formatted Disk Took another Pic

Hello,
Can any one tell me definitively if I am unable to recover photos on a disk that I formatted by mistake and then used the camera to take another photo thinking my camera was broken. By taking another photo have I definitely lost any chance of recovering the 100+ photos that I had on my card? I have tried downloading a number of software programs that claim to recover lost photos and none have worked - any suggestions?

i'm sorry to say but your photos are gone!
you wont be able to get them back.
