Shortcut virus affected my usb hard drive

Am havin a nightmare with this problem & i don't want to do something crazy & lose all my files for good. coz i can still see the used space on my usb hard drive which is "144 MB free of 465 GB"

I will follow the steps u give me, but first i need you to confirm it's 100% safe!!! & stick with me to the end, coz am not familiar with this kinda problems.. PLEASE!!

I need those files!!!

Ps : there's other folders with the shortcuts that wasn't on my usb hard drive before.

Also i believe my usb hard drive got that virus from my "C4-line" pc coz it has no antivirus on it, & it doesn't show hidden folders & alot worse.

But am gonna do the steps on my laptop 'windows vista' (it doesnt have antivirus either) incase u needed to know.
