Cant format date in excell

Hi,

When I enter the dates as number with out forward slashes, and format them by right clicking on format cells and choosing date the date appears with strange numbers like years 2036.

Could you help me ?

Hey there what happens is when I enter 120212 I right click and choose format cells and the select date choose the first one and then the date 15/02/2229 comes up. Do I need to place symbols between each number ?

It should not happen like that but can u please check in Data Validation under Data tab that the validation criteria has been set to by default any value instead of another if not thn set it to any value.

Think it should work.

Thank you I tried the data valuation and it was already set at any value. When I enter the date 120212 and format it I get 15/02/2229. Thanks again
